Gone Green Recycling Program and Contributions

The Garage Door Doctor is committed to the community. Our Gone Green recycling program is a first of its kind in the garage door industry. The program is simple. We recycle all parts we take down. Better yet, we use the proceeds of these recycled materials to give back to the local community and charitable organizations. To date, Garage Door Doctor donations have benefited several great organizations including those listed below.

The First Day of School Foundation

The First Day of School Foundation provides financial assistance for school-related and therapeutic expenses for Special Education students and families. The foundation honors the memory of Eli Thomas Waller.

Children's Tumor Foundation

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder causing tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. Usually diagnosed in childhood, NF is a life-long disorder affecting both sexes, all races and is more prevalent than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Huntington's disease combined. The Children's Tumor Foundation is committed to finding a cure to NF.

Alexander Youth Network

Alexander Youth Network is North Carolina’s leading provider of children’s behavioral healthcare. Alexander provides a comprehensive array of services developed to treat children with, or at risk for, serious emotional disturbance, and serves over 2,700 children each year.

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte has been a leader in the fight for equitable housing in the Charlotte community for over 25 years. In that time, more than 22,000 constituents have partnered with Habitat Charlotte to build and finance homes for low-income families in the Charlotte community.

Kids First of the Carolinas

Kids First is a very grass-roots community organization that helps children and families in need. Kids First collects much needed school supplies for local children. We provide Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas meals to families who would otherwise have none. We have connected families with mentors and tutors to help them to help themselves.

Jake Pritchard

Jake Pritchard was recently diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the most common fatal genetic disorder among children. To date, there is no cure. DMD is 100% fatal. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. AA’s primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety

Out of the Darkness Community Walks

In the United States, a person dies by suicide every 16 minutes, claiming more than 34,000 lives each year. It is estimated that an attempt is made every minute; with close to one million people attempting suicide annually. With your participation, you will not just be walking, and your donors will not just be writing a check - you will be helping to save lives.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested nearly $1.5 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
