By now most of you know that apps such as Chamberlain / Liftmaster’s myQ® app can come in really handy when you’re on a business trip and realize you left your garage door open. However, one often overlooked feature of garage door opener apps is their diagnostic capabilities. If your garage door opener is not working correctly, you can quickly see what’s causing the issue on your app such as a misaligned safety sensor.
Connecting Your myQ® Garage Door Opener to Your Dealer
Importantly, you can also share diagnostic messages with your preferred garage door service provider. Sharing diagnostic reports before a garage door repair company dispatches to your home can save you time and money. For one, the repair company will be able to get the right technicians and parts out to you. Second, the service provider should be able to give you a good estimate of cost and – best yet – may be able to help you fix the issue yourself at no cost!
The process for connecting your myQ® app with your garage door service provider is pretty straightforward. If you’re in the Charlotte, North Carolina area we would (of course) love for you to connect with us, but the process is the same for any Chamberlain / Liftmaster partner connected to the myQ® platform. Follow these simple steps to get connected:
- If you haven’t done so already, download the myQ® app to your smartphone or tablet. You can find the app on Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Open the app on your device and click on your profile initials in the top left corner.
- Select “My Dealer” from the menu.
- On the “Add a Dealer” screen select “Dealer ID” and enter the five-digit identification number. Enter 04457 for Garage Door Doctor in Charlotte.
- Click on “Save Dealer.”
